Fourth Cohort of UCC & UB Leadership Empowerment Programme Graduates

A graduation ceremony has been held for the fourth cohort of the University of Cape Coast

(UCC) and University at Buffalo (UB) Leadership Empowerment Certificate Programme at

the University of Cape Coast. A total of 12 graduates were presented with certificates at the

ceremony.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Prof Dora F. Edu-

Buandoh, said that although the COVID -19 pandemic had changed the nature of

instructional delivery in many parts of the world, she was happy to note that the fourth cohort

had an excellent virtual experiential learning. She ceased the opportunity to encourage

graduate students in UCC and other universities in Ghana to enrol in the fifth cohort of the

programme which begins in August 2021. She explained that enrolling in the programme

would add more value to their degrees to give them a competitive advantage over their

colleagues and peers.

Prof. Edu-Buandoh said that the Management of UCC was committed to the signed

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that gave birth to the programme. She explained that

the MoU focused on the promotion of research, the Leadership Empowerment Certificate

Programme for interested postgraduate students in UCC, and library services partnership

between UB and UCC.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor further expressed gratitude to the UB and UCC Coordinators, and

the Dean of the Centre for International Education (CIE), Prof. Kwaku Boakye and his staff

for their continuous support of the programme. She also thanked Prof. Paul Tesluk, Prof.

Dorothy Siaw-Asamoah, Miss Molly Anderson, Prof. Charles Lindsey, and the entire UB

team for their commitment to the MoU. She further expressed gratitude to Prof. Abigail

Opoku Mensah and Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom for their enthusiasm to assist the students.

The UB partners who virtually participated in the programme, took turns to advise the

graduates to show exceptional leadership wherever they find themselves and also apply the

knowledge and skills they had acquired from the programmme.
