School of Nursing and Midwifery Instills Proper Time Management in Students

The School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Cape Coast is seeking to stimulate significant positive change in the attitude of student nurses and midwives towards time management through targeted activities.

To that end, the School, through the Department of Adult Health, has organised a workshop to inculcate proper time management in students and prevail upon them to discard the mentality of ‘Ghana Man Time’ (Ghanaians’ own time) before they transition into the world of work.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Time Management,’ a Youth Coach and Resident Pastor of Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA-UCC) , Pastor Frank Akonnor,  underscored the need for  students to demonstrate total commitment to time and its management towards achieving greater things for themselves.

According to him, good time management "leads to profitability and productivity."

He observed that most students waste too much of their time on unnecessary issues that add no value to their lives and, therefore, grew up without achieving their goals.

The Youth Coach added, "It is difficult to count many great achievers and influencers of the world who failed to attach importance to time."

Offering tips on good time management, Pastor Akonnor asked the students to create a daily planner, give each task a time limit, set reminders for all tasks, avoid distractions and establish routines. He said there were enormous benefits of time management, mentioning achievement of goals, increased productivity, and better work-life balance.

Dr.Mrs Christiana Asiedu speaking at the event

In a short remark, the Head of the Department of Adult Health, Dr. Mrs Christiana Asiedu , advised students to manage their time properly while in school, since that will offer them a positive step to excel in life.

The event was chaired by  Dr. Jerry Ninnoni, the Head of the Department of Mental Health.
